Re: EC-14 for Walkabout

Well I have now used the 70-300 with EC 14 for about a week using the settings I have given earlier.

My impressions - I really like the combination now. In fact I have left the EC 14 attached all the time. The problems I experienced earlier were 100% down to me and the naff set-up I was using in the camera. I am careful to ensure that I keep the aperature better than f8 by adjusting the shutter speed. A quick check using the top display before attempting to shoot keeps me out of trouble and generally avoids the camera from attempting many focussing cycles. Selection of S-AF(s) is essential shooting in the bushes. Anything else creates the hunting problem.

After the encouraging posts on this thread, I decided to buy an EC-14, which arrived yesterday.

First impressions very positive, certainly a small addition to the camera bag for a useful amount of extra reach.
