Many on mu-43.com would go for that. They tend to dwell on customising their cameras with sticky leatherette and drooling over leather wriststraps. Sigh!

Ah, I see! I would certainly be attracted to a Ti version, but mainly for nostalgia. It would be a lovely thing to have, but I suspect my wallet might say "no!"

I don't think I'd be interested in a Ti version of any of the O-MD series however, I'm intrigued by the Olympus Air MFT lenscamera.

Does anyone have any more information on this?

I've found this:

Is this a gimmick or would there be any benefit to this?

Rather spend the extra money on decent glass myself

The Ti version (I'm sure it's only a paint finish) would suit me.

Reason? It would match SWMBO's new car which has an "Urban Titanium" metalic paint finish and therefore increase the chance of me getting clearance to acquire one.:D

It would be nice if Olympus could get back to making cameras rather than fashion accessories.

If it lures more people into buying one, then I guess it'll help the price to come down.

Weren't the OM Ti bodies (OM3 and OM4) titanium bodied, rather than titanium finish only?
Always lusted after them but the nearest I got were an OM1, OM2 and OM10 :(.

Magnesium is lighter than Titanium, and for many applications itís stronger per unit volume, it's also a lot cheaper....

But hey! Titanium is cool - The SR-71 was made of it...

Yes Dave, the Top and Bottom plates are made of titanium on both the champagne and the black versions. Titanium is incredibly light yet incredibly strong, far lighter and stronger than brass, it's not a cheap metal and cannot be shaped into elaborate forms.

Kind regards, Simon

The article says it's only "titanium colour". Shame, would have gone nicely with the 12" titanium plate I have in my right leg following a motorbike accident last year :D:D
