Oops ...

It was a nice day yesterday so I went for a walk over Ingleborough Hill, one of the Three Peaks of Yorkshire. The scramble up to the summit was a bit icy in places but I managed to negotiate it without incident. On the way down from Park Fell however I slipped on a muddy patch and measured my length on the ground. Needless to say the only bit to suffer a serious mudbath was my E-M5 - the easily-cleaned bit (i.e. me) missed the mud pretty much altogether. I'm hoping the now-dry mud will simply brush off, and that the weather-sealing has done its job!

Oh Dear! Hope you didn't bruise too much! Should have taken the camera into the shower with you!

Hope all well I think you took the field test a little far.

Oh dear, hope you're OK and the camera didn't get too much of a bash. Ingleborough is quite a scramble, isn't it. Did you get clear views? In which case I am eagerly awaiting photographic evidence :)

I'm glad you were not hurt but that does look a bit of a mess. If you put in the washing machine be sure to select the 'Delicates' cycle. ;)

:D

Well I'm pleased to report it's still working and I've cleaned pretty much all the mud off, the soft-touch surface of the grip is still a bit grubby though. I'm fine, thanks, it was a soft landing - but I'm a bit stiff through not having done any significant walks during this horrid wet winter.

It was a clear day, so when I get the pics out of the camera (haven't dared open the card door yet!) I'll see if there's anything worth posting :).

It could have been worse for the camera - a landing on hard rock rather than soft mud! Even so, nobody likes to see there camera looking like this! Fortunately it is well built and effectively sealed - a good scrub with a wet toothbrush on the persistant areas of mud should do the trick. :)

Glad it wasn't tears for you

Re: Oops ...

Thanks all :). To be honest, scenically it was a rather dull walk although the view from the summit was pretty good. I didn't actually take many pics, and this is probably the least worst ;). Ribblehead Viaduct on the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway takes centre stage and shows what a preposterous place it was to build a railway - one which has been called the world's only mainline express mountain railway ... Whernside, another of the Three Peaks, is to the left.
