Got a real buzz out of doing these...

Hi all

Like a lot of people on this forum, I've been having a go at photographing garden spiders lately (before they all disappear in the autumn), but as I like to photograph insects and all sorts of other bugs when I see them, I thought I'd be a little different and post some of my photos of bees I've taken very recently.

Hope you like them....

And finally:

I don't think any exif info came over with them (typical ), but for those of you who do want to know, they were taken with the E-3, 50mm macro, EC-20 and ring flash.

Cheers for now

Lovely Images Thea.

Particularly as I find Bees difficult to take tidy images of.

Yes well done Thea, the ring flash seems to work well.

Smashing set there Thea, especially number 3 - what a lovely composition on that one, and it looks as though the ring flash did a great job for that one especially.

Great photos, Thea

Bees move so fast and you have done really well there. While I like the "yellowness" and lack of colour in the first three and like number 2, I think I prefer the fourth image.

The forum theme this summer definitely appears to be multi-legged wildlife!

All brilliant ...but love #4 as the Bee stands out against the great

Thank you all very much - you're very kind :):):)

Bees are wonderful to photograph - if you watch them carefully and observe their visiting pattern on various flowers, you can then start to work out the best place/position to photograph them from. Then with a little quiet and patience you can get the photos you want - they're usually so busy they're not disturbed by you taking their picture.

It wasn't until I saw the photos on screen that I noticed just how much pollen some of them were covered in - it's just as well they don't get hay fever :D:D!

Fabulous macros Thea, The rich yellows and complete ball of stamens in #3 is great, definitely a favourite.
