A Crimson Rosella asking for a feed

......... in the upper Blue Mountains at Evans Lookout. I was about a metre away with my 12-40 lens at 40mm with it being as tame as it was. Obviously it was used to getting a feed from someone (no, I didn't give it anything).

Thanks Huw. I was only a metre away but now that I see the EXIF it was only at 1/80 second, so I am pleased it was OK as it was a breezy day too.

When I arrived there, there was a father & son (possibly tourists from Russia or that region) taking photos of it in a nearby small tree with his Canon & 100-400 lens (with a push/pull zoom) but when we walked over to the lookout rail the bird followed me & sat on the bit of railing, obviously hoping I had some food. I had taken some photos of the bird in the tree too but with the 12-40 lens as I didn't want to do the change in the wind & also as I wanted to get some landscape shots too. Some of our (Australia's) birds will do this if they are used to getting hand out food from tourists or locals though.

Anyhow, here they are doing their lens changes in the foreground of a view towards the Grose Valley (& Govetts Creek leading into the Grose River).
