Olympus EE-1 Dot Sight

Anyone else interested in this hot shoe add-on? It will apparently have it's own self contained battery.

Interesting, from the looks of it you would have to "zero" it in yourself, which means that each time you would have to make sure you are holding the camera in the same position each shot! (which I am sure we all do).

I imagine that it will work like a rifle dot sight, a bit like a rangefinder.

I've pre-ordered one from Amazon, I'll give it a try.

My worry is it's size.........It looks ENORMOUS relative to the camera

I will definitely get one at the end of the month as it will be mighty handy for sports.

Yes, I've decided to pre-order one since I've got a couple of motorsports events coming up in April.

I wonder if they're going to have one at the Photo Show?

I expect most onlookers will think it's an odd-looking flash gun.

Re: Olympus EE-1 Dot Sight

I have only seen this advertised for the E-M5 II and a stylus. So I got curious and looked at the SP100 that has it built in. On that you have to align the red dot to the object you are focusing on. To do this it displays a red cross on the LCD, so you put the cross on the subject and move the red dot to match. I imagine with out the red cross on the LCD to sync the red dot to aiming the thing would be difficult at best. So my question would be is the EE-1 only for the E-M5 II and Stylus because those are the only cameras that will display the red cross on the LCD? Or is red cross that gets displayed something the EE-1 generates? Or is it different than the SP100?
