Hopton Beach.
I've not been active on the forum for quite a while now. The reason is that for the last year or so my dear wife and soulmate of 45 years, Sandra's health had been steadily declining and in August she developed celulitis which turned to sepsis and she sadly passed away on 30th August. I haven't picked up a camera for some time now. However I spent a pleasant Christmas with my son and his family at Hopton on Sea in Norfolk. Christmas Eve was a nice day with blue in the sky so I went down to the beach with my son and grandson and our dog and actually took some photos. It's going to take a while yet to get my mojo back but at least I've made a start.

Here's a few shots from the day.

The dog enjoyed the sand too.

All taken with the E-M10 MK II and EZ 14-42mm

Thanks for looking.

Re: Hopton Beach.
I'm sorry to hear of Sandra's passing and your loss Peter, please accept my condolences.

I've been with my wife for over 40 years and would be lost without her, I cannot imagine how you've felt.

I'm glad you were able to spend Christmas with your son and grandson.

You still have an eye for an image, I hope your mojo returns soon.

Re: Hopton Beach.
I am really sorry to hear of your loss Peter. I am sure the love of your family will be a great comfort to you at this sad time and life will gradually become easier and happier for you.

Naturally I am interested in your fine shots of my home village. The beach looks in such a sorry state now with hardly any sand. On Boxing Day we went for a walk along Gorleston beach, which is absolutely massive, and it seems so unfair that some of that sand couldn't have worked its way a few miles further south to Hopton.

Re: Hopton Beach.
Peter, I know that 2017 was a terrible year for you and the loss of Sandra left you devastated. The healing process is going to take a long while, but I'm pleased to see that you have been able to go out with your camera and take a few pictures; that's an important step forward. I'm thinking of you.

Re: Hopton Beach.
Many thanks for all your kind replies, they are much appreciated.

I am very much living one day at a time still but each day seems to bring a new challenge. This morning I am stupidly agonising over whether to walk down the road to the local Toby Carvery for lunch. It would be good to have a meal I don't have to cook myself, it was something Sandra and I used to do on a Friday when our daughter (who has learning disabilities and still lives with me) goes out for a regular lunch club meeting. However I keep thinking about the empty place that will be at my table. On balance I will probably go, another challenge defeated and move on.

Kind Regards.*chr

Re: Hopton Beach.
Peter we've only met virtually but my thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Hope you managed the Toby meal I'm sure it was very difficult. Nice shots of the beach, looks a bit cold for a beach outing even with that warm sunshine you captured. Look forward to more shots soon.
