Walking home from the Woods
Sitting by the river I saw a few ducks I think unusual ... well I had not seen these before - first a white one ? any id please ?

and then a Brownie one ... again, any id please ? gratefully accepted.

Soon a wonderful song was about my ears ... it took quite a while to home in on the magical sound of this small bird - well hidden

It was indeed a tiny Wren ... I discovered when at home !

Returning home I took a shot of our Bluebells about the Salix pot ... to compare to the Woodland Bluebells

I have to say, the colour of Woodland Bluebells is richer, more purple blue ... but they are of the same genus ! REAL English Bluebells not Spanish ...

I hope you enjoyed these ! ... Nick was still burning ... burning ... burning the old Leylandi ! :)

Hi ChevvyF1,

Glad to see some new shots from you. Love the bluebells and the wren.

Re: Walking home from the Woods
The 1st duck is a Khaki Campbell. A domesticated duck originating in England, you'll see them along canals up and down the country, often hybridising with Mallards and white ducks etc.. The second duck is one of said hybrids.

That 2nd wren shot is fantastic.

I really like the shots of the wren (super capture) and the last shot of the bluebells. :)

There is something really calming about bluebell shots. They just look so still and tranquil and you captured that really nicely in that second shot Chevvy.

I agree with the commentas on blubells. A seasonal subject to be savoured.

I like the second blubell shot with the water on them. Really adds something to the image.

Love the wren shot's, it was quite concealed in the first image you have done well to capture it through the branches.

Best wishes....Alan

Another vote for the wren shots. Must have been very difficult to get, but well worth it.

Hi Amanda, Pete, John, Lyn, Phill, Hec, Alan, Roger, Thank You all for stopping by ! *chr

Pete special thanks for the id - well I am blowed, I would never have known THAT about these Ducks :)

The Wren, well she was well in cover to start and I have to say I was listening to a bird song for about 10 or 15 minutes trying to work out where it was coming from and hoping to see the bird (I am rubbish at bird song id ) but getting better by practice like this ... When I saw it was a Wren well the shutter button just kept going off ... she was hopping about on the first stump then flew onto another ... and so on ... EVENTUALLY I was rewarded when she broke cover - but I never got the beak open singing shot out of cover, so included the two here to share !

I have been meaning to process the 2nd Wren shot in CO6 (as this is ooc and a serious crop) as it may come up better still ! Actually, it will ! :D
