ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300mm 1:2.8

I am thinking of selling my 300mm lens. Having just got the EM-5, I am thinking of going the whole hog down the micro four thirds route.
Anyone interested? It is in very good nick, C/W filters and case.
Photos later when I have recovered from my early morning moor hen shoot:D

Has been well used and has a couple of cosmetic marks but lens works a treat. Included with lens is the lens hood camo cover and tripod plate.
And the Jobu Jr Gimbal head.

Somebody should at that price - an amazing lens that works as a 425mm f4 with no practical drop-off in quality (with the EC-14).
BTW, a gimbal is a must for this lens...

Hmm I thought 3k was pretty expensive until I Googled the new price at ~5,300-5,600 new this a bargain. Just a very expensive bargain that's not for me I'm afraid :(
Good luck with the sale Dave hope you find it a good home.

I got mine for 2900 a couple of years ago - that was a bargain. A decent gimbal is at least 150 s/h, so 3k seems like a very good bargain. The IQ of these lenses are second only to the 150f2 in terms of sharpness and bokeh. My pictures of crested tits two years ago in Aviemore made my Nikon shooting friend realise that there is a vast difference between a Nikkor 300f4 and the Zuiko 300f2.8 in image quality. It was that that pushed her over the edge to get a Nikkor 500f4. She will be the first to admit that the Zuiko is still sharper and gets more reach than her 500 on her D700. If anyone is serious about wildlife photography, the 300/2.8 is the way to go...

As an example, http://fourthirds-user.com/galleries.../size/big/cat/.

That (when at full mag) is a 100% crop, shot wide-open with the EC-14 attached.

Re: ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300mm 1:2.8

I bought mine from SRS two years ago and it had languished on their website for at least a couple of months, indicating that lenses at this price/quality do not sell quickly. Mine was cosmetically damaged and certainly not in such good nick as Sapper's but I paid rather less for it in consequence. I think 3k is a very good price for what is on offer and the purchaser won't regret the expenditure. I also have the 90-250 (ex Woofmix) and I know which one I shall keep if push were to come to shove.

In old money it's a 600mm f2.8 and there never was such a lens available to ordinary mortals. Put the EC14 on and you've got an 850mm f4. Can Canikon match that or indeed come anywhere near?

Certainly not! Lenses like this should not be allowed to gather dust!
