Short break in the Cotswolds

It was mixed weather while we were there but sometimes that works out more interesting. Here are a few shots from Bourton on the Water and Upper and Lower Slaughter.

Great shots. Its a lovely area and well worth a visit. Burton on the Water can get busy with tourists though.

Lovely shots of beautiful village scenes. If I was living there though, I'd be worried about flooding with all those rivers/streams about.

Nice work Phill, reminds me of being taken to those places by my parents when I was a child. Any of those would make a nice chocolate box or jigsaw picture but no.3 is my favourite!

You have caught the place well.

Lovely tour of the Cotswolds, Phill. Love the colour of all the old stone buildings, looks like sandstone, but surely not. Sandra and I spent a few days in Painswick, it's a glorious tiny hamlet.

A lovely set, which does justice to this picturesque village. I think I would remove the overhead cable in #2, but I do understand the ethics of photographers who are opposed to this type of manipulation. :)

Not to mention the disruption to the property's power supply … *erm

Thanks for your likes and comments guys, yes they are very photogenic villages. Hence, it's quite tricky to get a shot that doesn't have hoards of tourists. You certainly need patience at some points.
Don't think I'll be cloning out the wire John although you are correct it would improve the shot. I'm just too lazy really these days.
Had to Google the stone Mark as I thought it was a type of sandstone but it's not
"Cotswold stone is a yellow oolitic Jurassic limestone. This limestone is rich in fossils, particularly of fossilised sea urchins. When weathered, the colour of buildings made or faced with this stone is often described as honey or golden."

A nice set of images. I’d definitely consider removing the cable. After a depressing, cloudy weekend in Paris, I ended up with a set of photos I was very happy with. When it’s cloudy and raining, and then the sun comes out, good photos happen.
