Selling my 90-250 F2.8 ! £2k + postage

£2000.00 + postage !
As per the heading I have decided to sell this stellar optic, but not just it… most likely everything else too  And with regard to 'everything else' I will make my mind up over the next few days.

Yes I know I have bought more gear very recently but if I am being truthful I was trying to 'rekindle' my 'digital mojo' but all in vain as no matter which way I look at it digital just does not 'float my boat' anymore.

I love my OM4ti, 35SP and Hasselblad 202FA, I guess I'm just an 'old softie' when it comes to 'film' and it really is in my blood. If the em1 goes I will however get an ep5 when they drop below £300 just so that I can use my OM Zuiko's on a digital body ( when I feel the urge to ) which also happens to look rather classy too.

This is without doubt the most friendly forum I know of and I love partaking in it so rest assured I will be 'hanging around'.

OK …. the 90-250 F2.8, as some may remember/know I bought it from Harrison Cameras several months ago. It is in very good cosmetic condition, just a few small paint wear marks …. no abuse. Optically it is in wonderful condition and comes with it's hood, hood cover, a Sigma 105mm DG UV filter and a Sigma 105mm Lens Cap ( just bought brand new, this lens does not ship from Olympus with a cap, just the hood cover ). The AF speed on the em1 is VERY fast, not 'M4/3 blistering speed' but very fast and accurate never the less.

I paid £2750 for it and have been offered £2000 off a dealer for it, but before I accept that offer I wanted to see if anyone on here would love the chance to obtain this stellar optic for that price plus £30 postage via R.M.S.D.

So is there interest at £2030.00 including postage ? ….. hell of a great buy if you are in the market for such a lens *yes

If so either respond here or drop me a PM, payment would need to be made by bank transfer of cash-on-collection.

I have not had chance to upload photo's as I have been busy with paperwork for my business however I have some if required. I am sure there are 'several' members here who will vouch for my honesty and integrity.

** I also have a 'Kirk King Cobra' gimbal head which is perfect for this lens, about £350 new, £120 if bought with the lens**

I have tried so hard to 'love' digital but in the end I guess I'm just a luddite :o It's not just cameras, I much prefer listening to vinyl on my Linn LP12 turntable than I do CD's or MP3's. My house phone is an old BT rotary dial 'Trim', I don't own a mobile … hate the bloody things …. the ruination of conversation and family interaction:mad:. And to top it off I want to but a "Morris 1000 Traveller" to ride about in:eek:.

I will get around to listing the rest over the next few days.

Cheers, Simon

Simon could you please post some photos of the lens, especially showing the small rub marks that you mention.

Thanks Paul

I am so tempted, but have to put my temptation on hold, as 40-150mm f/2.8 is first on the list
Good luck with the sale though.

Hi Paul,

Of course, I will post some here this evening ( I'm in work at the moment ). I should have done so when composing the listing but it was late and I was tried ( lame excuse ).

Rub marks are genuinely 'minor' and this is a great buy, Ffordes have just had one in and its £3.5k. I would like more ideally but I'm being realistic and just looking for what I will get off the dealer so that someone here really has a great buy instead.

Cheers, Simon

I will happily vouch for Simon as a good seller. Sadly for him I don't really need another 90-250 as long-distance stereophotography is not one of my major interests :)

Another thumbs up for Simon. He bought my 12-60 and we had a great little chat about things on the phone whilst I was enjoying myself on Penarth Pier. Much as I would love the 90-250, it is not a priority for me.
Looking forward to seeing what else you will be listing................

Tom,

If you "are" getting the 40-150 F2.8 I doubt it worth having the 90-250 as well unless you plan to use it like a 250mm prime ;)

However if you already have say the 12-40 F2.8 then the 90-250 would be a great addition ( no 40-150 ) albeit a much larger optic to carry around and the difference in price is 'just' ( I say just :o ) about £700.00 .

Lot of lens for the money, however I wouldn't personally have it with the 40-150. Then again who am I to suggest 'rationale thinking'

Cheers, Simon

Well Dave I have decided and EVERYTHING is going

I'm a film guy 'through and through' and as good as the em1 & lenses are digital just doesn't do it for me. Lord knows I have tried to love digital and spent a hell of a lot along the way, recent purchases made to rekindle the 'mojo' but to no avail.

As you know I have a beautiful OM4ti with 28 f2, 50 f2 macro & 100 f2 Zuiko's and I feel so much more 'in tune' with them along with my Hasselblad & 120 film.

So what's the rest? Well …..

M4/3

1) em1, boxed, complete, super condition, around 3 - 3.5k actutations …. £749.00 include 2 x batteries

2) HLD7 grip, boxed, complete, super condition, £99.00 ( once the em1 goes )

3) 12mm F2 'Black" Limited Edition, boxed, complete with black hood & metal cap, AS NEW…….. £449.00 SOLD

4) 75mm F1.8 Black, boxed, super condition, UV filter included….. £499.00 SOLD

5) VF2 EVF SILVER, boxed, complete, super condition, comes with the bigger eyecup……….. £75.00

6) FR2 'Ring Flash' adapter to mount the 60mm macro onto the RF11 ring flash, boxed, super condition, expensive item new……… £30.00 RESERVED

Regular 4/3

1) 12-60 SWD ( bought off Benvendetta ) , boxed, complete, excellent condition, great lens ……. £250.00 SOLD

2) 50mm F2 Macro, boxed, complete, superb condition, bought here for £165 so asking £165.00

3) Panasonic/Leica 25mm F1.4, boxed, complete, super lens in lovely condition, just one 'tiny' loss of paint on the metal barrel. Bought off here within the last two weeks for £250.00 so asking £250 ….. BARGAIN ( Ffordes have one at £599 )

4) 150mm F2, boxed, complete, AS NEW, stunning Lens, arguably the best SHG and very compact ( though weighty ), great on the em1 with say 12-40 & 75. Bought off here in August for £1375 …. will take somewhere around £1250

5) EC20 2x convertor, boxed, mint ……. £175 RESERVED

6) EC14 1.4x convertor, boxed, mint …..£175.00

7) EX25 extension tube, not boxed but mint …… £55.00

8) FL36R flashgun & Stofen Omni-Bounce diffuser, boxed with pouch but not instruction book, very good condition, works well with em1 & 5 …… £75.00 RESERVED

9) RF11 Ring Flash & FC1 Controller, complete with carry case and instructions, super condition, "very expensive" new and is a great TTL Ring Flash …… £225.00

10 ) Hahnel Ultima II 1 Hour Charger, complete, comes with 'plates' for Li-10B/12B/30B/40B/42B, PS-BLM1/BLS1, Li-50B/60B, I think I used it maybe twice, as new in its full original retail packaging, £39.99 new ……. asking £15.00

There may be a few other 'bits' at some point but essentially that is the bulk of it.

I will get a S/H 'silver' ep5 at some point to use with the OM primes for the 'odd' time I feel like or need to shoot digitally but there is no rush, right now I am just too head over heals in love with film again ;)

Cheers, Simon

***Ps.. meant to say … "postage 'extra' at actual cost"

Oh and I forgot the MMF3, but I'll hold that back for now until the Regular 4/3 has gone

Phew Simon, that's some sale. As you know, I'm on the same path as you regarding film, but even I haven't got rid of all my digital stuff (yet). Look forward to seeing your new Leica. :)

I can also definitely vouch for Simon. I've bought quite a bit of stuff from him, and due to buy some more tomorrow (not digital stuff though), and he's always been a pleasure to deal with.
