Panasonic G series shutter count

I know there are Panasonic users amongst our members so I just thought I'd put this on here in case it is of any interest to them.

I came across this article recently describing how to look at the shutter count for various G models - I've tested the G6 and GX1 instructions today and they worked for me, but I take no responsibility beyond providing the link below!

Whoever came up with the weird and wacky strategy for determining shutter count needs psychotherapy - It begs the question: why does it need to be so nerdy?

Well, as it says in the text on the link, its meant for the teckies to do their thing, us mere mortals shouldn't know how to do this!
But it is handy. (if you have enough fingers!)

Making access difficult for mortals can't have any logical reason that I can think of.
Someone posting somewhere 'only n shutter operations and it has packed in' can't be worse than saying 'no idea of the number count but it has packed in'.

Couldn't agree more.
Why cant there be a simple software to do it like EOSCount for Canon?

It's not rocket science! Just a sub-menu of a sub-menu, at least the manufacturers would sleep at night knowing only super geeks would be able to navigate to the sub of a sub-menu
