Many of you will be receiving Olympus User magazine this week. If you have the time, please do fill in and return the survey leaflet that is inside the new issue. Question 20 asks about web use - it would be most appropriate if you could record that you use this site - e-group.uk.net - in this question.

As I read Q20, it is a follow-on question from Q19 which is about how often one uses www.olympus.co.uk, so not much scope for a plug for this excellent site..

Okay, so what's Olympus User magazine?

It's a subscription only magazine done 4 times a year on behalf of Olympus. (I'll admit I'm biased being a regular contributor ) but it's pretty good with lots of prizes and chances to get published and not just an ad-fest.

Thanks. They used to publish something similar in the 80's for the OM system.

Olympus UK also sent out two Japanese publications with their magazine, Vision Age and Olympus Pursuit.

Thanks. They used to publish something similar in the 80's for the OM system.

I think that's where Olympus User came from. The late Ian Aston (very nice bloke) used to be editor and Ron Spillman (a big influence on me when I was starting out) was a regular contributor. Archant took over the publication of the magazine, which is slicker, but still keeps a 'club feeling'.

Don't know if Mr B could organise it, but a complimentary copy to members of the forum might get them a few more subscriptions?

Ian,

Sorry but I didn't read it that way...

Another point about "Olympus User" is that it used to be known as the magazine for the Olympus Camera Club, although it seems to be losing that identity recently. If you subscribed to the magazine you were a member of the club. This certainly does still exist as I had cause to telephone them recently and they answer the phone as "Olympus Camera Club".
