Thank you for your patience this morning. TapaTalk access has been restored.
We have had a brief period with a production-spec. E5 and in responsive to many requests for sample images we have a gallery of 31 hastily assembled JPEG samples for you.
Thanks for these images Ian. They really do show a marked improvement on image detail/noise. Out of interest, I have taken a ISO1600 image and passed it through Neat Image with NO other adjustments.
I am pleased with the results and although some colour noise remains, the luminance noise has been virtually illiminated. I would not have believed that ISO1600 was usable - but it certainly is. My experience with the E3 was that I was pushing it at ISO 800 and that ISO 400 was the limit for good images from the E3.
Hi Thank you Ian, downloaded a couple of images, 3200 iso and 6400 iso and did a A3 size print of each, The 3200 iso is very Exceptable at A3 with only noise reduction from photoshop and we know that isn't brilliant but no Noise in the print well less than my 800 iso at least the 6400 iso print does show a little noise but very low and film like. So very pleaseing result so far.
I have to bow for Olympus. I have compared it to my own shots with Nikon D300 and D90 and to Kenrockwell's pictures (http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d90/iso-3200.htm) and I have to say I'm impressed enough to go from doubtfull for Oly's future to getting E-5 on my wishlist for christmas based on the picture quality alone. I downloaded it and played with it in PS and I am really impressed with the result. Can we have a RAW-file to play with??
Cheers Ian, I 2nd this any chance we can have a few RAW files to play with, but so far with no noise reduction on those images, they are very impressive

I hadn't thought that some of you would like to hack the E-5 RAW code
I will upload some later.
I now have an E-5 that I can call my own so I will be producing some more samples with various options enabled.
Unfortunately the upload speed here at the Photokina press office is very slow, so I'm going back to my hotel as the press office is about to close for the day. The Internet at the hotel is even slower, but I can just let it do its thing in its own time.
But eventually I will have 15 new samples for you to try, some with the Noise Filter on and comparisons with the Noise Filter off, and some RAW files too. m.Zuiko 40-150 samples will be uploaded too.
