Our very first e-group Picture of the day is by KEITHBD, and is a beautiful contre-jour shot of a sailing boat on the solent taken at a recent members' meet:
This picture was nominated by Ellie, who organised the meet. She explains:
"The light that day was challenging, quickly changing from being reasonably good to almost dark and back again.
I think this excellent picture captures the atmosphere of the Solent and the challenge of sailing there, although I'm sure purists would say the photographer should have waited a moment until the sails passed across a gap in The Needles."
Ellie had also commented on a banding problem with the sky tones, but Keith has since corrected that, and this is the version we're featuring today.
Well done Keith!
