Bird challenge: ID the bird, if right, then post yours

OK, as we have several bird togs here on e-group, I thought I'd try to kick off a new thread where we post a pic we have taken of a bird, and the person who gets the ID correct has to post a pic of a bird... et al. Doesn't have to be a brilliant shot, could be a crop of a selected area of a shot, or a nicely composed bird portrait.

Just a bit of fun, nothing serious.

I will kick it off with an easy one for ya, a shot of a bird I spotted in the tree whilst out walking with Jen earlier this fine evening. Blustery it was, but sunny nonetheless. Here it is... your starter for 10...

Thanks John ...I got there in the end..as you said they don't have to be brilliant images,here's a terrible one that adds to the mystery.
It was at the local reserve on Sunday evening and never stayed still,head down feeding.
Another easy one I think !

Sorry Guys Not a Dunlin or one of the Sandpipers.
I knew there was one of these in front of me and luckily I took shots of various birds BUT even though they have charts up in the hide It took some detective work to get it.

WOW, it's still anyones game this... and yes Keith I agree with you, it is a good thread this. I am glad I started it!! Right time to have a think and get in before Peter sees the thread - he'd know...
