  • Captain Hook's View

I live in the home town of JM Barrie and the local play park is Peter Pan themed.

This was taken from the bow of the big play ship at sunrise.

    A nice view I think.

It was a very strange light.

I know, looking at it again it does look a bit strange but I've really not done that much to the raw files for the panorama.

This is the unedited panorama with only straighten and crop.

What's the monument in the distance? Surely the Wallace Monument at Stirling is not near enough to be seen from Kirriemuir?

Yes very strange George but it's what was there at the time so it's fine by me.

              I don't think it is Jim. [emoji16]

That one is the Airlie Monument.

It certainly is a wonderful view but on this occasion it does look a tad over-processed to my eye.

All I really did was lift the shadows and add a wee bit of contrast, clarity and dehaze.

I think its a fabulous photo. Colour of the sky is fantastic, was there a dust storm from that direction in the last couple of days? The colour is very even...

Yeah it was a strange one. No dust storm but it was very cold up that way overnight. Down to minus 8 if that could have an affect on it?

Looking North and taken just after sunrise. The light was only there for 5 mins. The colour was all to the south just before this then the sky in the North lit up pink.

It was great to see it happen.
