I've got some images somewhere of them building. Also of an ichneuman subsequently attempting to parasitise the larva within. Not very comfortable to watch, knowing what would happen if it succeed.

I took this photo some years ago before I had a teleconverter for the 300/4. You can see a bee with a piece of leaf clasped between its legs. The hotel has hardly been used in recent years, leaving me wondering where the bees have gone. We seem short of other insects, such as hoverflies, too.
