  • Strawberry Hill - Twickenham

We went to Strawberry Hill in Twickenham recently:

    https://www.strawberryhillhouse.org.uk/

It's a fantastic place (literally) and well worth a visit. The interiors are rather dark and I only took one shot of one room. A much of the decor is papier mache, including the fan vault ceiling.

I wondered whether to darken the sky, to make it more dramatic.

This was taken at ISO 1600, but doesn't seem noisy on my laptop.

    Like them both.

That interior is very ornate, nicely captured.

Lovely building, well captured. Sky is dark enough for me.

What Dave said. Plus .... interior lighting looks fine too.

Agree that the sky is dark enough, and the interior photo works well. 1600 ISO is quite acceptable....:-)

I guess that like many people, I looked around barely understanding what I was looking at. In the end going to the gift shop and buying the guide, and when at home reading it to find out what I'd missed!

Can only agree with all the above. As for reading when one gets home... = SOD's law.

I'd say two perfect exposures. ISO 1600 (even 3200) should be no problem for modern Olympus cameras, providing we follow the golden rule never to under expose.

They look good. The sky is perfect - I only attempt the selections and so on, to darken the sky, if that is where the white point would otherwise be.
