  • Studley Royal Deer Park 12th Oct

Staurday we had are first visit of the season to Studley Royal Deer Park near Ripon. The park has red, fallow & sika deer. Although it is a bit early we thought we would see if any of the deer had started rutting. One or to making plently of noise and chasing some young stags off but no rutting yet.

        Nice shots.
I'm surprised you say it's a little early though, the wild reds in the Peak District have been on it for a few weeks now, and are already split into groups. Although I did see a couple of big males locking antlers at the weekend.

One or two of the bigger males are stating to bellow but it was calm. Not a crash of antler to heard or seen.
The best battle I saw was this pair. Although each time they had a battle it was behind some branches of a fallen tree.
