  • Trentham Gardens flower meadows

Definitely a must visit if you are in the Midlands and like flowers. The 4 specially planted meadows were very spectacular and made a great contrast with the more formal planted gardens. Although the original files are nicely detailed this is the only time I think I've wished for more megapixels and detail. I didn't try hi-res but as the breeze was moving the flowers a bit I suspect it would have struggled. Here are a couple of the many images I shot, hopefully they will look OK with the forum file size limits.

          I like those Phill.

          Did they attract many butterflies?

Just like that - gone in a flash! Now in use.

Thanks guys, the meadows are a real tribute to the people who planted them. The sheer number of flowers and the range of complementing colours was quite breath taking. I think the most striking thing was how natural they all looked in comparison to the very formal parts of Trentham gardens which are also pretty impressive.
Barr1e, yes there were a few butterflies around but to be honest not as many as I'd have expected considering how many flowers there were.

Fairly ideal lighting for colour rendering.

A great meadow collection. I've been to the gardens twice now in 3 years but don't anticipate being back for some time.
