  • First Balloon of Spring.

Our local country park is used by hot air balloon operators for launching. I happened to spot this one this evening and managed to grab a shot, first I've seen this year.

Actually of course, (as usual) I had the wrong lens on the camera in this case the little 14-42 EZ but didn't have time to change it. The above is a major crop, here is the original frame.

    Didn't scrub up too badly.

    Thanks for looking.

How marvellous, Peter. The 14-42 has done well, the buildings put the balloon in some context. I can't get over how soft and different your light is to ours..

Hello Peter I see that it is a virgin balloon they very often pass over my house at this time of the year. You did manage to get a couple of shots.

Nothing wrong with the 14-42EZ. Perfect for keeping on the camera so that you can pick it up and take it out without having to think about a bag.

This was taken in late afternoon (about 4.45pm) when the sun was low and behind the camera. I think all our meteorological "phenomena" are soft compared to yours which probably explains why we sometimes seem to get all four seasons in one day.

          Regards.
