Don't really know. Just as wide as possible with the basic adapter. I guess its between f/5.6 to f/8.

Yes it does look good. If you can do that with just a lens then I might regret getting the telescope I've just bought

Last nights efforts, managed to get more shots before clouds rolled in.
            5 x 5 min shots + 2 x 5 min darks, all stacked in Deep Sky Stacker. EM5mk2 with nikon 400mm lens.

Have you stacked them with the images from the other night?

                Not so far.

I changed the mounting on the camera last night to what I hope will be a more rigid solution. So not really sure how to do the stacking.

One nights set of images are at completely different angles to the other.

I will have a play with Deep Sky Stacker to see whats possible.

Maybe it's me but a lot of the stars bottom left seem to be doubled up. I presume this is an artefact of the stacking?

Think you are right , not sure why it only affects one area though.

Reprocessed two days images as one in DSS its very clever software and they have now gone.

Yes, It was 7 * 5 min Lights plus 4 x 5 min Darks - i.e shots taken with the same settings but with the lens cap on to identify hot pixels and the underlying noise which is then subtracted by stacking in DSS.

Chance would be a fine thing. Clouds, clouds and more clouds are the constant problem. I think I need at least an hour cumulative total exposures to get the best detail and reduce the noise.

Clear and crisp night last night. Full Harvest Moon didn't help but I am pleased with the result.
This was taken with my EM5mk2 and Nikon 400mm lens.
                                Its 15 x 2min lights + 3 x 2 minute darks all stacked in Deep Sky Stacker.
