Sometimes we do things out of boredom or just don't find something better to do.
Anyhow, here is our black dog Toby sitting on a dark grey couch in a dimly lit room & I am using three different cameras with the focus assist LED ON with each of them to compare how each can get focus OK (only using CD-AF as PD-AF struggles too much using my 4/3's lenses in these conditions) with each having been exposed for 1/4 second.
The first is the E-M1 with the 75-300 lens at 75mm (cropped a little & at ISO 6400 NF Standard).

The second is the E-M5 with the 12-50 lens at 50mm (cropped more & at ISO 6400, NF Standard).

And the third is the Stylus 1 at 38.6mm f2.8 (zoomed in & at ISO 1600, NF Sandard).

Then Toby is saying, "How much longer do I have to sit here for you?"

E-M1 +75-300 lens at 75mm with clip on flash.
I am impressed with how good the contrast detect AF is in dark scenes (on all three cameras) & with a bit of a struggle these mostly locked onto focus. The obvious key to low light photography is to use a bright (large aperture) lens. I'm waiting for when I can get my hands on the 40-150 f/2.8 lens, but funds won't allow me to do that until next year some time, hopefully when the prices are a little lower & they are offering a cash back deal (like they are doing for us here right now on cameras & lenses).
Thanks for indulging me & looking.
