    Pity I'm not likely to see this thing in action now, stuck in work, but here's a couple of shots.

    Thats absolutely fabulous - both the photos and the subject.

    What is the background to this spider? This is the first I have heard/seen anything of it. I like the angles of your shots and see that they have tethered it

      It's all part of Liverpool's Capital of Culture Year. It weighs in at anything between 30 and 50 tonnes, and stands over 30' high. No t sure if you remember ther Elephant and girl puppets in London not too long back, but it's the same troupe of street performers from france. So far she's been climbing buildings and showering in the docks with a grande finally tommorow.
