  • Medium rare fungus

    This is a gnarly old Beefsteak Fungus on an equally gnarly old oak. It's actually quite common, but this is a particularly spectacular one where the 'meat' of the fungus has come away.

                I don't see many of them up in my part of the world, can't remember the last. Supposed to be edible but I think they would make the local butchers steak seem tender :-(

                  Thanks agin. For info, if you're looking for one of these they doesn't usually look like this! It's just because the flesh has been stripped of by something.
