A friend tipped me off where she had seen a buzzard on a post the past two days....could not resist taking the Bigma to see it.

A terrible place on a very busy single A road (50 MPH) with no where to park or get near too....or was it.
I found a bit of verge and plonked the car and walked to the place...no Buzzard....backed my rear end into a Hawthorn hedge opposite with little seat and tripod.....then cleared room for lens to see through and waited....and waited.
Two hours later I gave up with just these shots......two gate posts....

and the only other thing I could see apart from speeding cars just feet away. The church was tiny on the horizon.

Oh what a glorious way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

THe Bigma captures some good images ...if only the 520 would lock on focus more often.

    Re: Two posts

To be honest I think they are quite possibly the best post shots I've seen. I admire your enthusiasm on chasing a lead though.
    Thanks

Wonderful bokeh, but those posts need processing!

What dedication, you deserve to get the shots next time.

I think that gate needs a bit of attention. There seems to be a smidgen of rust on it (!)

I was expecting a low budget remake of "Four Candles".

I admire your persistance in trying to get the shot you want. It paid off for you with Kingfishers and I'm sure it will with Buzzards.

                      Regards.

she looked at me and said "It's official. I hate your camera. It's just so amazing and perfect I want one!"

Just looked on google earth and confirmed it was at Rushock.
Thanks for asking as I found out this.......
St. Michael's, Rushock,Worcestershire - final resting place of the legendary drummer John (Bonzo) Bonham.Someone has put a better pic on google earth if you are interested...... there's an interesting sounding village next to Rushock as well....it's Cakebole....

Must be the best mickey taking POST I have put on---the other one's a moany s**

There are loads of Buzzards here as well but mostly soaring/sitting on telegraph posts and trees. So the chance of getting with in yards of one at MY level is well worth the trip and the hawthorn hide is quite cosy in a claustrophobic sort of way...bloody cars come too close though.
