  • Steam traction Engine Rally

A local steam rally was affected by the rain. The engines never left the assembly point.

    Ground conditions were not ideal.

Attempts to pump away the water proved futile.

Visitor numbers were well down on last year.

But we may have discovered the answer to water shortages.

It has been a great shame for so many events. our local steam rally was cancelled this year. I think No 2 is the story of this summer

        Good post!

The second photo is a nice inclusion, especially within the context of the set. The photo of the stands is a grinner, too, lol, with an oddly effective composition.

The water pump (and caption) made me laugh. Hopefully the weather didn't totally spoil your day...

Yes it was. These shots were taken on Sunday. Saturday was even worse, I am told.

              Cheer up Ken!
Why just the other day we were at a dry (but grey) Carlisle for their annual Steam Fair.

e-P1&17mm. See that sky?: that's grey that is.

e-600 & kit lens. Enjoying boilersuits immensely.

While we enjoy "Vivid" it does sometime overdo reds ; (but greens survive nicely)

Little ones for the little ones.
