A general election will solve nothing, in fact it will probably make matters worse. We need either a second referendum or an extension to Art.50, and/or a government of national unity. We also (though this might be viewed as an extreme measure) need to abolish the right wing press which carry on printing bile and misinformation.

Perhaps it's time to remind ourselves of what Mathew Parris (no left-winger) said in The Times in 2016.

And yet people are prepared to forgive him anything - his lies, chaotic and sordid personal life, on the grounds of 'It's just Boris being Boris'!

I expect that even the voters in his Uxbridge and Ruislip constituency are under no illusion that he'll make slightest attempt to stop the Heathrow runway let alone by lying in front of the bulldozers. The only ly/ie/ing he ever does is with his mouth!
