      I had Bill, yes

You've got it in a nutshell, some politicians (mostly "Selfservatives" though by no means exclusively) change their principles entirely in their own interests rather than in the interest of the country, few have any real integrity. The current bunch are the worst I can ever remember. There can be little doubt now that "dark money" and other forces are at work in the background, manipulating the population for their own ends.

That would seem to be the case on both sides of the house at the moment. Time to drain the swamp I think, but watch out for the alligators!

The "left" seems to believe that China, India and Malaysia don't exist and we can simply return to the trade union utopia of the 1960s and early 70s.

Just like it has worked for Venezuela.
          Exactly!

Meanwhile, citizens of communist regimes continue to risk and lose their lives trying to escape to the UK, as they have done for many years now; while we in the UK still think it is a bright idea to install a communist leader with links to terrorist organisations?

However, I think you have your dates wrong. The pinnacle of trade union power came in 1978-79 when we had three months-worth of rubbish piled on the streets and in many areas bereaved families were not even allowed to bury their dead. That is how good it gets.

So at least half a century of French colonial rule and war with the strongest military nation on Earth has nothing to do with the current predicament of Vietnam?

If you are talking about the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the war with the USA ended in 1976; over forty years ago.

Surely you are not suggesting that France, our neighbour and fellow EU member would have a negative impact on the country?

To quote Wiki: 'Vietnam is a unitary Marxist-Leninist one-party socialist republic.' Why would anyone want to leave?

You also seem to have forgotten the thousands who lost their lives escaping from former East Germany and the Eastern Bloc.

If you don't recognize any of them, either ask or Google them.

These are all their real and given names, no nicknames.

                Maybe I can trump those.

In my first year in the martial arts I trained under a Bruce Lee. I subsequently took over from him.

No idea as I've never used Twitter and have no intention of doing so. No doubt one of the news sites will soon be reporting a similar tweet made by someone who managed to lift their head out of the swamp for a few moments.

Why can't this bloke ever do anything honestly?
Even his proposed election date is to make it confusing for university students to vote.

He's dishonest in his personal life, he was dishonest as a journalist and he's dishonest as a politician. Even his own brother and sister don't trust him!

How's he getting away with it - is it simply because people think that he's just 'Boris being Boris'?!

Maybe he is trying to ensure they only vote ONCE, not TWICE as happened during the last General Election and was encouraged by the opposition!

Some of them seem to have a very warped idea of democracy.

More likely he doesn't want them to vote at all

Well, we have an odd dichotomy when we are told that sixteen year-olds should be allowed to vote, but that Shamima Begum should be allowed to return to the UK 'because she wasn't old enough to know what she was doing'.
