      I have seen a shot similar to this, the one that springs to mind was a photo shoot of the Vulcan from a Hercules. Maybe this was something similar.
      Wow I would love the chance to photograph from there. Well we can dream!

        Not as dramatic, and not taken with an Oly, but this was shot a few years ago by my son, who was RAF officer in charge of Tristar tanker maintenance in Bahrain during the Gulf war. He was in a Tristar when he took it.

          Perhaps it's just my (fertile) imagination, but in the first picture it looks like they're doing some filming or something - looks like there's a camera mounted on a tripod at the left?

            well spotted re the tripod, and i know that they sometimes carry stuff in cargo planes but surely loading on the ground is easier!
