According to the FT, sales of diesel cars in general, and orders from China are falling. Two significant factors for Jaguar.

I'm glad I got rid of the one and only diesel car I ever owned three years ago. The writing was on the wall even then.

If you wish to blame any particular group, look to the environmental scientists. The government of the day wouldn't promote diesel without research data.

If you read research papers, a good number of them recommend further research. It's rare for it to not be the case.

We already have a Peugeot diesel and purchased a new additional one in June and perfectly happy with both. Neither of us are too concerned about what may or may not happen in a few years time. There's only one certainty in this life so live for the moment. ( And cheer up ! It's nearly Christmas )

I have a 2018 diesel bought before the new higher VED duty applied. It meets the highest EU emission standards and in fact emits less pollutants than the majority of petrol engined cars. The Government certainly caused the issues at Jaguar Land Rover, the majority of who's cars are diesel. They introduced the new high duty rate on diesels and at the same time tightened money supply making it more difficult for people to get finance to buy a car.

If you look globally most if not all car manufacturers have sales declining and you can't blame Brexit for that.

Don't worry Paul, Comrade Corbyn is on the sidelines waiting to throw a lifeline.

As we have often been referred to as a nation of shop-keeprs, it seems reasonable to mis-quote from 'The Little Shop Of Horrors'... "Eat them, eat them now."

If it was good enough for the Dutch Goose it should be good enough for the British Gander and followers... all 649 of them.
It's not what inspires us that is important, it's where the journey takes us.

Here's an interesting article from the European Commission debunking all sorts of myths about the EU, from Abattoirs to Zoos (possibly an unfortunate connection but those just happen to be the first and last in the list!)
                              https://blogs.ec.europa.eu/ECintheUK/euromyths-a-z-index

It is interesting to note that sources of most of the myths quoted are from the Express, Mail, Sun etc!
