Wasn't sure where to post this hence using the lounge.

Some interesting rumours I think. Mju-D looks really cool. Hope they do it. Shame no mention of cross type af sensors on the E-M1 mk2 though

    Re: Rumours

I find that sites "rumours" to be a bit like the traveling fair's fortune tellers.

With the latest offering from Panasonic, 4K has to be in the "cards".

The crystal ball has already been reground into an 8mm f/1.8 fisheye.

A new metering system will measure the light off a pattern printed on the shutter "Leaves"

and the palm of your hand will be relieved by the reduced weight of you wallet.

Good to read though and it get the mouth watering for the next round of GAS

Yes, all very well, but what does Nostradamus say?

        Re: Rumours

What it says about the EM-1 mkII is pretty much what anyone would guess will be in that camera given the market and the new EM-5 mkII. As far as cross type sensors are concerned it does not even mention phase detection at all but I am sure phase detection will be in the spec, whether or not of the cross type is another matter. Cross type sensors or some other method of drastically improving C-AF is a deal maker/breaker for me.

Miketoll has said it in his last sentence. Improved C-AF would make me part with my money for a EM1 MkII rather quickly. 20MP would be nice, phase detection a must as I'd guess there's no other way of getting the C-AF improvement I'd like. I'm not interested in shift sensor trickery as on the EM5 MkII, I shoot wildlife mostly and the little beggars won't sit still!
          Too many cameras!
          E-500, E-510, EPM1, EPL5, EP3, EP5, OM-D E M10, OM-D E M5, Trip 35mm, Samsung WP10 and Panasonic G6 plus lots of lenses many manual focus.

I doubt it, 4k video generates a lot of sensor heat and the only panasonic cameras it is in is those without IBIS which is why I doubt you will see it in the GX7 replacement, it seems it is one or the other and I know which is more important to me.

Yep cross type af sensors would make me upgrade too. Just wouldn't bother for anything else.

A new sensor will be nice, but I hope it's got improved noise performance at higher ISO. I don't crave for more Mp, but I would like lower noise. It will be a disaster if the higher Mp results in worse noise performance - and we should remember that a 20Mp U43 sensor will have the same pixel density as an 80Mp FF sensor.
