  • Hand warmers

I am off to Donna Nook with the UKPSG to photograph the seals in December and it will probably be very cold. Anyone recommend a type of hand warmer for inside gloves, or even which type of glove to keep my pinkies warm?

Get a pair of 'Buffalo' mitts. They're not expensive and are warm even when wet.

I use fingerless gloves when it's really cold. You can get them with attached bits that pull over the ends of your fingers too, turning them into temporary mittens.

Mine came from our excellent weekly market, but I think you can get them from most outdoor / army supply / camping shops, probably fishing equipment shops too.
