Android tablet computer question

I have recently acquired an Android Honeycomb (Android 3.2) tablet computer. I won't reveal the make and model for now, but I can't watch streamed flash video reliably via web browser, for example BBC iPlayer programmes. The sound or video may freeze, or the whole thing freezes or the tablet reboots without warning. This is using Flash 11.1. No problems watching YouTube (which is played by default even from the browser via a YouTube App/plug-in that doesn't seem to depend on Flash). Watching MP4 movies is problem-free.

I'm trying to establish whether the problem is specific to my tablet or my make and model of tablet, or if it's an Android Honeycomb issue.

Can anyone comment?

Ian, I have been browsing to Buy one ... and recall some mentions of this in the Amazon Reviews so I can only suggest you take a look by make & model and Android 3.2 (I think you will find its pretty common probs with bbc iplayer ..

It's not just iPlayer. The main beef about Honeycomb and iPlayer is that the BBC iPlayer won't install - it's only on the App Market for earlier versions of Android and doesn't download programmes for local off-line playback either. But if you have any links to people having problems streaming iPlayer content then please let me know.

Hi Ian

Its probably an adobe flash issue.....well it is on my tablet. You need to make sure that AIR and flash are upgraded to the latest version. However sometimes it maybe better to have Flast 10 (latest sub version) installed when using iPlayer.

You could also try the Dolphin web browser. It seems faster than the default version.

If it is the same as mine, when we met up, then it is due for a firmware upgrade to V4 this month. This also may help with the crashing.

There was another firmware update just last week but this made no difference and although an Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4) upgrade is promised, we're still waiting. I have the latest versions of Air and Flash installed. I have tried Flash 10.3 instead of 11.1 and this is a little better but not the solution. I have also tried Dolphin HD and Skyfire browsers, again no big improvement.
