  • Scottish Logic (2)

(Since Chris W started the 'crafty Scotsman' stories... Apologies if you've heard this one before

An Englishman, a Welshman and a Scotsman were attending the funeral of a friend. As they stood round the grave together, the Englishman said "I once borrowed five pounds from him. Never let it be said that I don't repay my debts" and he took a five pound note from his wallet and placed it on the coffin.

The Welshman, shamed by the Englishman's honesty, admitted that he too owed their departed friend five pounds, and likewise placed his fiver on the coffin.

The Scotsman then said "I'm pretty sure I owed him five pounds as well." He took out his cheque book and wrote out a cheque for fifteen pounds which he put on the coffin, then took the two fivers as change.
