    You should have done what I did recently, just bought it (1s) for her since her Fuji ultra zoom wasn't coping so well in low light nor focussing fast enough.

      Did cross my mind Ross. I also considered just getting it myself as a versatile back up to the EM1.

        Mind you, I still had to turn off some things like WiFi & maybe touch screen to keep it a simple operation camera. One thing that it does allow is using the front ring for zoom which used (as well as the front & side toggle switches), coming from a bridge camera with a manual zoom ring, but that still depends on having the front switch lever in that position otherwise the front ring becomes click mode for changing parameters.
