Seems he initially bought a black one for a specific trip because he couldn't wait for a silver one! Some people have more money than sense. Still, I've added it too my watch list, just in case it turns into a bargain!

Ho ho ho Zuiko, "he couldn't wait for a silver one".
Mmm, hope it turns into a bargain.
Skids, do you hope it turns into a bargain too? Is there an evil smiley?

It is me selling on eBay (I didn't try to hide it, I thought it was obvious to all). Happy if it turns into a bargain for somebody. No reason for an evil smiley that I'm aware of (unless I'm missing something obvious)????????

Afraid I can't afford this one, but at least you have cleared up the transferable warranty thing that was exercising some folks on here recently.

They told me the same - whoever has the purchase receipt is covered, PLUS I did claim for my previous E-PL1 faulty flash as a 2nd owner and no problems - fixed under warranty.

Also claimed for an odd lens fault on my XZ-1 (2nd owner) and whilst with Olympus they also replaced the slightly dented lens bezel FOC at the same time unexpectedly. I was delighted!

Where's the "transferable warranty thing" thread?

Mmmm can't remember - I think it was in a sale thread a couple of weeks back.

Hehe! I thought you were just giving the heads up about this, I should have realized it might be yours! Don't worry, we all let our hearts rule our heads sometimes when it comes to finances - I got married for a start.....

Actually, initial bids look promising and you may not end up too much down, which of course is good news for you but bad news for me!

Seriously, I hope it does well for you.

Ian asked Olympus to clarify and this was the reply:-

So long the camera is still within the warranty period and a proof of purchase from the original retailer is provided, the warranty will be honoured.

That seems clear to me and I would have no hesitation in buying this camera if I could afford it.

Are you including the grip as well or will you hang on to that for your silver one now the offer is over?

I was wondering that. The listing doesn't say it is so I am guessing that it is not.

Just curious. As the silver kits are coming with the black lens, does that mean you will buy a silver body & silver lens separately?

I was rather mystified by the various bodies and lenses which were purchased but I think this post clears it up.

I suppose if both purchases had been registered with Olympus before the cut-off date there would have been two free grips available (unless the offer was limited to one per customer). I am sure the E-M5 and lens should make a good price anyway.
