  • MyOlympus updated terms of use

I just received an e-mail asking me to read and agree to updated terms of use and privacy agreements from MyOlympus. I've logged in and attempted to read both but they open in a pop-up window with no ability to scroll, so I can only read the first few lines so cannot agree to them. Anyone else had this issue? Firefox 69, Windows 10 v1903.
    Regards
    Richard

You can read the new terms here if your're interested Otto. https://my.olympus-consumer.com/uk/p/terms-of-use

They look more appropriate to a contract if you were purchasing an A380 Airbus

Thanks Jax, I knew I'd regret looking at them! Ts & Cs are the bane of modern life .

Yep, it's just companies covering their backsides. The Ts and Cs for my iPhone run to 94 pages! And no, I haven't read them .

Re: MyOlympus updated terms of use

I don’t think I’ve ever read any of them, agreed to hundreds, read none. Utterly pointless, especially the ones where if you don’t agree you’re thrown out of whatever it is your supposed to be reading. Modern tripe!

Re: MyOlympus updated terms of use

I actually read both versions I copied them and laid them side by side to look for the differences.

The new version is much longer because it has a large section under '11. Data protection and security', detailing what they can do with the information you give them. The older version simply referred to their 'Privacy policy'. Presumably, this is to comply with some EU Regulation.

Otherwise, not a lot seems to have changed. The minimum age to sign up is now 16, instead of 18, and the size limit on submitted photos is 5 MB, instead of 2 MB

There are several minor changes in the wording which, in my opinion, do improve the clarity.

It's a pity that Olympus couldn't have produced a brief summary of the changes
