    Re: DXO Photolab 3

quick update - I found out what the changes are

In some conditions, standard denoising (and even more so PRIME) do not behave very well, especially keeping too much noise at long exposure time, or in some special shooting modes like multiple-exposure.

This issue was fixed, mostly for Canon cameras and Olympus. On these cameras, it also can impact denoising at very high ISO whatever the exposure time (the amount of residual noise in the shadows should be significantly reduced).

      Re: DXO Photolab 3

Just had a browse of the website, it looks a lot better than Lightroom! Have you used V2 extensively? does it do the cataloguing as well or better than lightroom?
      I didn’t get where I am today....

        Re: DXO Photolab 3

        Hi Walti

I don't use the cataloguing features as I have another DRM system

in fact one of the reasons I picked DXO (apart from the stunning noise reduction) was that it did not force you to use it's cataloguing system

For raw development I have used it extensively in V1 and V2. the only disappointment I had was back before it was integrated with the Nik toolset to give the point adjustments (back then you sometimes had to edit in 2 ways then blend in an external program) since V2 I have rarely if ever fired up photoshop)

          Re: DXO Photolab 3

I got the notification last night, but haven't upgraded yes, as I want to do a system backup first.
I certainly will upgrade though, as I've been using Photolab since its inception and DxO Optics Pro before that since about version 4
          Best Regards

              Nope

I don't have Nik Collection and I have this function

There is a 30 day trial if you want to give it a go

Might just do that as it does look pretty good from that link.

                  Re: DXO Photolab 3

If you are running on a Windows platform, DX0 PhotoLab 3 needs a 64-Bit version of Windows 8.1 or 10. Windows 7 is not supported.

Thanks Dave I hadn't spotted that. I'm impressed you remembered I tend to run on 32bit Win7. Haven't truly migrated to Win 10 yet, dabbling on my newer laptop but still trying to run both as I just haven't worked out the best way to sort all my files and storage yet.
