  • Photo editing on iPad

Go myself an iPad and wondered what software I can use to edit my RAW files. I have LR 5on my laptop and desktop, but not sure if LR will go on an iPad.

Yes, there is a LR app if you have the full version of Lightroom. Don't use it myself as I don't consider the iPad, good though they are, suitable for photo editing.

Thanks for this Stephen. Posted my reply to Chevvy before I saw this.
I will only use the iPad when away from home, not for normal editing.

You need to download it from the Apple Store. Just search for Lightroom.

You can't use this app for editing raw files, Chevvy, just jpegs. Dave wants to edit raw files, I believe.

I did Stephen, but no joy. Just get apps to learn how to use LR.

It's definitely there. The first item when the search criteria is "lightroom". I've just checked.

It's called Lightroom Mobile... freebie if you have LR5. Just slight miffed that it's iOS only, not Android... not that I think I'd use it much anyway.

                        Well I can't find it.
I type Lightroom in the app store but only get tutorials.

                            Re: Photo editing on iPad

You have to subscribe to adobe CC. Editing takes place on a small version which I presume is jpeg and the edits are then synced back. It works well for what it does but I don't find it incredibly useful. You cannot load images onto it directly they have to be on your main PC or laptop, create a collection which you can then sync with LR Mobile. I have found Photosmith more useful while travelling it is a plug in to LR with an iPad app. Load the raws, import into Photosmith, ascribe stars, colours, picks etc then sync with LR when back at base.

Thanks guys. From your replies it seems that Lightroom cannot be used on an iPad when on the move.
I will try photo smith for basic editing.
