Olympus camera updater

While running, there is no status information.
The screen on the camera is blank.
The Update Camera window has a spinning ring of white dots.
No indication of progress.
No data loaded indicator/counter.

How do I know when it'll finish?
It's been running for 20 minutes.

This has to be among the worst software user interfaces.
