Because it will be smaller and lighter than my Oly 7-14mm F/2.8 PRO. Really its an emergency small and light lens for when I don't want to cart the zoom around.

That's the reason I left that 7-14 behind on my Bromo trip. I didn't even bother with the Samyang FE. Even with the minimal Laowa 7.5, 12-40, 35-100 and 100-300, it was still a burden to hike with them.

The 9-18 mft lens is decent enough and very small and light.
