  • Question for 70-300 owners

Did your lens come with a blue sticker on it that indicated the equivalent focal length range (140-600)?

    Yes it did.

Thankfully it removes easily without any marking of the lens.

Lol, I wondered about this. The one at the launch event had one on, but none of the other lenses, and the Oly guy was suprised when I asked him if it was fully working as it had a weird equivilent marking on it.
Perhaps he thinks people don't "get" 4/3rds. Personally I find it alot easier than doing the APS-C type conversions in my head!

The reason I was asking is that a suspicious looking 70-300 turned up on eBay. Apparently the seller had bought it by mistake because, er, he had a Canon EOS-400D... oh, and no box or 'paperwork'. The rather blurry product photo showed the sticker, which I had assumed was something Olympus demo units were festooned with. This made me think it had been pinched from a demo day. It would be hilarious if it was the one without the AF motor

Mine came with this sticker, I chose to remove it as it was rather bright and unnecessary. As far as I know all the lenses at my local camera shop had these stickers on.

Mine came today complete with blue 140-600 sticker. Glad to hear it will come off easily. I only paid £252 delivered in 10 days from Jacobs. Looks well made to me. The AF/MF switch for close focusing had me confused for a while. Hope to get some decent pics tommorrow,
