HELP! MMF-2 and OM - 4/3 question..

I have an OM lens, and OM - 4/3rds adapter and an MMF-2.

Can I use this to use the OM lens on a Micro Four Thirds Camera, or do I really need a new adapter for OM - MFT.

I've tried it and it works a bit, but I just thought I'd see what other peoples experiences have been.

What do you mean by 'it works a bit'?
It should be fine and no different to an OM -mFT direct adapter.

I meant that I can get pictures but sometimes they're out of focus. I just wanted to know if that's me or the combination of adapters! I have found that turning IS off actually helps for some reason, does anyone know why that might be?

I think the focussing must be you grappling with manually focusing with a screen (or EVF)!

The adaptors just make up the distance between the lens mounts and the focal plane. Instead of one big leap (OM - mft), you are making two smaller ones (OM-4/3 then 4/3-mft).

It's actually quite a good way of using legacy lenses if you are running both mft and 4/3 systems in parallel. Even though it might feel or look odd it will not affect picture quality at all.

Yes, this is a perfectly acceptable way of mounting the lens. If you're using IS, don't forget to manually set the focal length of the lens to enable the body to make the appropriate compensation.

You're supposed to put in the actual focal length of the lens you're using into IS right? I do that for the 50mm 1.8 OM with the EPL1 and it seems to work better without it. Oh well. I might be selling my E-510 and getting a pany G1.... My partner still uses her Pen though

Yes, you've got it right. Interesting to hear your results. I've never tried comparing on and off with legacy lenses. Must check it someday!
