    If its working inside a church then is it using the 'phone signal for triangulation? I suspect that the GPS signal is useless if its inside or in a bag/pocket.

      Incidentally, just as an update, the lens was never recovered and the client did a runner Research suggests someone of the same name has been in court over photography/money related complaints in a similar time period.
