I have seen the D5, it's a "bloody monster" therefore when we compare the em1x to it it really puts things into perspective .... the em1x is WAY too big for a camera with a sensor one quarter the size of the D5.
Compared to the Z6, a 35mm full frame mirrorless, the em1x is unfortunately "positively ridiculous". I am sure it's a great camera in many ways and yes Andy Rouse is using one but wasn't the whole idea of mirrorless to produce much smaller cameras, I mean even the mirrorless medium format Fuji GFX50r and the Hasselblad x1d are considerably smaller.

Re: LCE em1x
I totally agree Paul. I am more than happy with the results I get from the PEN-F but when a 4/3 sensor camera is as large as a PRO DSLR, Larger than a mirrorless 35mm format, and even larger than a mirrorless medium format I do wonder ... "what's the point?" . Olympus have said they are 'wedded' to the M4/3 sensor size but I cannot help feeling they 'dropped the ball' by not developing a 35mm or medium format sensor camera for their 'Pro' model. Yes sensor performance has greatly improved in recent years but that is across the board, just as M4/3 sensors get better so do the larger formats.
Olympus should keep M4/3 bodies as compact as possible and if they want to capture some of the Pro market develop a 35mm sensor camera ( or larger ) with innovative features something they have always been extremely good at, the em1x is too niche IMO.

Re: LCE em1x
I tend to agree with both of you as I got into Olympus cameras as they were small and light. To be honest the M1 mk2 with a pro lens on is heavier than I'd like but definitely as heavy as I'm willing to go. However, what I can't understand now that they have a large body in the 1X is why they can't just open it up a bit and fit in a full frame sensor. Couldn't they then make either an extension tube or an add in lens to get the images from existing m4/3 lenses to fill the sensor? Then you'd have a FF camera with an MX body and m4/3s lenses. I doubt an adaptor would add much extra weight and the combo would be way lighter than any current FF camera kit. I'm sure there is a lot to this and many reasons why it wouldn't work but if anyone can explain why I'd like to know.
