    Amazing lens. I love it.

"I've become very picky. Most of my outings these days do not yield satisfactory photographs because what used to be satisfactory to me in the past no longer is. I make much fewer images today than I have in previous times, and I expect this trend to continue. Progress in art is not about becoming more prolific; it's about becoming more demanding." - Guy Tal

Fascinating colours and textures in the stone - the top half looks like blue cheese! Is that one of the marble quarries up Estremoz way, Antonio?

I agree it's a nice lens and those are interesting shots too. You seem to be getting nicer bokeh with your lens than I usually get.

Thank you Phill for your comment.
It is a nice lens indeed. Perhaps a bit heavy...

Thanks for the extra photos Antonio, interesting to see the stone in context.

They were't messing about when they dug that quarry, were they!

                Welcome John !
When I visited this quarry 4 years ago, (time passes quickly) I went to a visit just to take pictures of the stones and activity in Borba near Estremoz. It was winter.
The one we see here (above) was the first one I made when arriving to the area. We were - a couple, my wife and myself - guided by someone and I missed to ask why this was abandoned.
Other areas were active. When now I see these photos I realize that I would have - or, I having now - another perspective and way of looking.

Sorry if the images are not Olys. They are all Canon.
                On the way back

                Another abandoned area.

Many thanks for sharing all of these whatever camera you were using

Portugal is a country that we (me and mrs Shenstone) still have to visit, but as a pair of geologists there is certainly something for people like us

You are making good use of the new lens .. please keep posting

                  regards

Andy, thank you for the comment.
Portugal is a friendly country. I am a suspect indeed but believe me, it is true.
                    People are OK and kind.
Perhaps too kind in political terms but hei, that is not our point here
Do you know Edward Burtynsky work ? Some shots are in Portugal. Have a look. The images are outstanding ! I am a fan of his work !

Do you work with Cactus ? I have a couple of them. Still trying to get the most out of them.

                    Cheers !
