I clicked "Thanks" but now I'm in an agony of indecision, especially as I spent £599 on the 8mm f/1.8 just this afternoon ... I think it would be better to save for the 150-400 but this is so tempting ... aaargh

    Cheers,

Yes, I had a flicker of interest, but I know I’m better off waiting for one of several possibilities: M5iii; M1iii; 150-400; 1X to have its first firmware update (including working BIF AI) and to fall further still in price.

Having just come back from 9 days wildlife photography in Kenya, I know I’d be made very happy with an M1ii upgrade that just added a working focus joystick!

        Re: E-M1X £1999 at LCE

I’ve decided not to even look at an X until I find the ii limits my photography. Moving from the i to the ii was a no-brainer as the camera was the limit in some circumstances, whereas I’m the limit with the ii !

I’m also wondering whether the X will be necessary to get the best out of the 150-400+TC an F11 1000mm lens is going to take some work to get focussed properly...

F11 with Phase detect, will be interesting if they pull that one off with any degree of consistency

Beginning to be tempted, but I'm with Walti, my skills are below what the EM1 ii can offer. However, the better focus and IS are so tempting to invest in...Ö.

LCE group are approved Olympus dealers and the camera comes with a five year warranty. £1999 is a very good price but the camera is not for me at any price.

Been looking for a way back to Olympus for awhile. So at the price and 5 year warranty I went for it. Now need to buy some lens.

Not for me either. My list is E-M5iii, 12-200mm, Non-Pro 100-400mm (or whatever it might be), x2 TC, and 7 or 8mm small prime (Laowa; or Olympus if they come up with one) - but I've yet to decide in what order and how to pay for it!

EDIT: Ignore this post, even cheaper from Jessops - see next post

£2,799.99 at the Olympus EU Store, but £600 'Instant Discount' is taken off at the checkout getting it down to £2,199.99, then using a 15% discount code reduces it further to 'only' £1,869.99.

Even better! But I think (from Googling that the code might expire early today, so if you want one get in quick)

                            Jessops https://www.jessops.com/p/olympus/om...ra-body-166986

Use code CAM10 and get it for £1,790.10 (the code is for 10% off cameras over £1,000, it's working at the moment, but I don't know the expiry date, as it appears in a pop up with no mention of end date and it's not searchable on their website EDIT: Googling found somewhere that stated it expires 2nd Sept - yesterday, but sometimes codes run on past midnight until someone from IT starts work the next morning).

That code works with both camera bodies and cameras with lenses. Sadly I can't find any other codes to see if they'll stack with it.

P.S. If you're a member of Topcashback, you might get a 3.5% from them for an online Jessops camera purchase, but that code might cause cashback to be declined, but worth trying to get a further £62.65 off. Quidco are only paying 2.5% (£44.75) on Jessops online camera purchases.
