I've updated my E-M1 & 60mm macro lens so far (well that's all I have except for Oly Capture to go). Now all I have to do now is put all my favourite settings back in.

It took less than 8 minutes to download but first follow the instructions from here as you go & make sure you have a freshly charged battery, to be sure.

Then it goes through its two stage update. First the spinning dots as it is 'updating the firmware'

Then the transfer symbol on the camera & pc

And then final relief when you see this.

Mine took around 5 minutes with no apparent problems. Now to spend the day resetting and understanding the camera!

                      Looking forward to it.

Re: Firmware updates - 2AM on Thursday 26th

I got an email to say it was available from Oly at 08:24 this morning. Got rugby on Saturday so will postpone upgrade until after that - I don't want to be grappling with a setting that has changed in the middle of a match in p***ing (or possibly pouring) rain.

Might want to re-think that John. Updated mine and first thing I tried was the S-OVF. I think it works and tried it a few time by switching between the two. To me there is a feel of OVF performance with the S-OVF setting. Tried CAF on a magpie that took off caught the frame in focus but that's only one test.

all done, only the date and time left untouched (as per the firmware advice). All working fine and I had my first stab at using the focus stack function using the 60mm macro. As the light is poor its at ISO 1600 at f3.5, with the focus stack steps set to 5, hand-held . Looks to have potential
